I first met Mike in March 2017 when he worked for another company, and I was so impressed with the quality of his work that I asked if he had ever considered starting his own business. As luck would have it, Mike was transitioning to full-time work through his new company, All American Handyman, at that same time. I was eager to acquire his services as soon as he opened his doors.
Over the next six years, Mike has completed an extensive range of projects at my home, each displaying remarkable craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. He has completely renovated three full bathrooms down to the studs and added a new half bath, demonstrating his expertise in plumbing, electrical work, cabinetry, drywall, and painting. He also demolished and replaced a large deck and installed aluminum railings, showcasing his versatility and skill in exterior work.
Mike also transformed the interior of my home by demolishing several walls to create a more open concept on the first level. He entirely reconfigured my kitchen, handling everything from demolition to installation, including custom cabinetry, countertops, and finishes. His thorough knowledge of each project's technical and aesthetic aspects was evident in every phase.
Beyond his impressive skills, Mike is a rare find among contractors. He communicates clearly and professionally, adeptly managing both the technical and administrative sides of his work. Mike Pecoraro does an extensive range of home improvement work; all of it extremely competently:
- Raised and reinforced a sagging overhanging eave
- Replaced a gable vent
- Painted multiple rooms
- Replaced water-damage drywall, taped and painted to match rest of room
- Installed a sump pump, including the sump and interior French drain system
- Routed water from downspouts and sump pumps away from house to pop-up discharge
- Routed network cable from from basement panel to multiple rooms
- Pulled up carpet, padding, staples, and tack strip, filling the holes, and installed shoe molding.
- Replace sink and several faucets
- Installed several light fixtures
- Re-wired ceiling fan fixture so fan and light are on separate wall switches, and can be controlled remotely
- Did emergency patch on 2nd floor drain pipe leaking into first-floor laundry room,
then did complete repair, including drywall and painting
- Removed paneling and replaced it with dry-wall
- Replaced wall along stairway with open-plan railing
- Replaced stair tread
- Installed storm door
Mike is competent with all of these tasks, and all of the work has been of the highest quality.
If something special or custom is desired, Mike can do it. Mike's rates are reasonable; he works
quickly and efficiently, using Zip walls as-needed to control dust. I have been extremely happy with
everything Mike has done.
